During my studies in 3D Animation, I became especially interested in lighting, mainly with the idea of being able to light my own shots and personal projects. What caught my attention the most when I started working with lighting were the similarities I found with subjects I had already studied during my degree, particularly painting, color theory, and related disciplines. When lighting a scene, I often rely heavily on references from painting and illustration, sometimes using lighting that may be slightly unrealistic, but that still works and helps reinforce the atmosphere or emotions.
